About the Broomlady

Kentucky Broom Lady--Followin' Family Traditions
"Teaching and re-introducing this old way of broom-making is one of my favorite things to do."

Kentucky Broom Lady--Followin' Family Traditions

Donna J. Williams, eldest granddaughter of Brother Winford Smith, has been "Followin' Family Traditions" since 1988.  She is honored and blessed to be "Followin' Family Traditions" of the Hawkins and Smith families of Hart, Grayson and Edmondson Counties of Kentucky.

"All my brooms are hand made with real broom corn.  Each broom is unique, all are made with care to quality construction.  "Paw-Paw" taught us that way, and we each had to demonstrate our technique and craftsmanship were up to his standards."
